App-Control is a plug-in for Vision6 that replaces the existing “Run Application” feature. It does not have any stand-alone capacity. Provides the means for a teacher to launch and close applications and documents on student workstations. It employs the communications platform of Vision to send messages from the Teacher workstation to the Student workstations, and to report the status of Student workstations. Installed on both the Master and Student computers, just as other plug-ins. Licensing is the same as other GenevaLogic products. Appears to the teacher primarily as a single toolbar button with a drop-down action menu. App-Control has no student interface. Does not override system administrator controls. App-Control behaves exactly as if the student were running the programs themselves—all restrictions placed upon students by the system administrator are kept intact. A disallowed application cannot be run with App-Control any more than it can by a student at a desktop.

App-Control may be installed manually, remotely via GenevaLogic's Accel technology (included), or with command-line parameters. The installer is an MSI package that can be deployed via common third-party remote deployment tools. App-Control may be removed via Windows Add/Remove Programs, with Accel, via command-line parameters. or MSI-compliant uninstallers.

App-Control may be installed on any workstation that is capable of running Vision6:

• Windows 98/ME/2000/XP
• Vision6 installed
