Description
Print-Limit Pro is a print monitoring, charging, quota and control system designed for multi-user networks. It also works on standalone home systems, or small peer-to-peer networks. The software monitors printing activity allowing administrators to track and control users print activity or restrict print usage to required levels.
Manage Supervise all network print activity from any browser window. Access dozens of standard pre-built reports covering, users, printers, and shared accounts. Modify user's account balance and view full transaction history. Centrally record maintenance and toner replacement dates.
Regulate Monitor, limit, chargeback, or set print quotas on printer activity for any user on the network. Set limitations or restrictions for expensive print jobs or color printers. Automatically delete duplicate print jobs. Remotely disable or enable printers, cancel print jobs and manage user accounts.
Recover Assign print expenses to individuals, groups or cost centers. Recoup paper and toner costs from departments and end-users. Issue fee-based print cards to users to recover the cost of printing. User friendly tools help manage print accounts.
Print-Limit Pro includes many new innovative features to help streamline and manage printing, including remote administration via a browser, automatic management of user accounts, and ability to consolidate print activity into graphs and reports.
Network users gain access to technologies such as the ability to view their account history via a web browser and access to PrePaid cards to provide the ability to add funds to their account.
In education and business networks, client software may be used to allow users to charge printing to secured shared accounts or other personal accounts
Optional Feature for User Account Credits Print-Limit Pro uses the concept of PrintCards to provide a convenient way for organizations to issue credit to users. Using the card is optional and is not required for simple quota management or silent logging. PrintCards are most suitable in a high school or university environment.

Calculation Assumptions Daily print volume = 2 pages per student per day Printing Type = B&W laser, single sided, 8.5 x 11 Cost per print page = $.05 School days per year = 180
Control Print Volume Set print quotas and limitations on users to control the amount of printing and encourage the responsible use of valuable school resources.
Monitor Print Activity View detailed reports showing how printers are being used, how much each user is printing and which print jobs are costing the school the most money.
The Unique Education IT Environment In the education world, user turnover is high and networks are dynamic. Print·Limit includes many features for administration streamlining, including:
- tools for automatic account creation
- automatic scheduling of credit and quotas
- simple web-based administration for office staff
- 100% server based implementation
Stability Print Limit development began in 1999, in conjunction with network technicians and staff from a number of education facilities. It has proven scalability and stability.
Simplicity Print Limit is designed for ease-of-use, yet provides the power needed for flexible administration. Print·Limit is renowned for its straightforward installation and easy-to-use interface. Some highlights include:
- self applying security permissions upon install
- no back-end databases to configure
- automatic user account importing from Active Directory groups or organizational units
The campus would like the ability to bill individuals and departments. Print-Limit Pro has the ability to simultaneously charge shared accounts for users, departments, cost centers, faculties, or projects. Control access to shared accounts via PIN’s or network group membership. Users select the account via “popup” client software.
Schools spend excessive amounts on paper and toner. Print-Limit Pro allows the school to set print quotas and restrictions on users, reducing paper and toner use by up to 75% and saving schools money every year.
The school isn’t sure who uses the most paper or which users print too much. Print-Limit Pro has detailed reporting that shows the top print users, as well as a detailed history of the biggest and the most expensive print jobs.
Technical Requirements Print Limit runs on Windows networks, monitoring printer queues.
