NetSupport School now provides a powerful and unique Student Journal. During a typical class, all appropriate items relating to the subject can be captured and automatically included in a PDF file for post lesson review by each Student.

Tech Console (NEW)
A classroom management solution is not simply about providing the right tools for each teacher. Equally important are tools to ensure all computers in the school can be managed and maintained so they are always available for teaching. With this in mind, NetSupport School also provides a unique "Tech Console" specifically for Lab Technicians and Network Managers.

Keyboard Monitoring (ENHANCED)
Designed to be used in conjunction with application control, this component provides Teachers with a real-time insight into Student activity and topic understanding. During a lesson, while all Students are working using any approved application, the Teacher can monitor the entire class and see quickly and easily their typed content and activity levels.

NetSupport School 10 now features the addition of "Target" Keywords for the tracking of Student understanding and a full history of keyboard usage by Student and application.

The keyboard monitor also provides a perfect monitoring tool when students are online in forums or search forms.

Student Toolbar (ENHANCED)
NetSupport School now features a Student Information bar, neatly located at the top of each Student Screen. This can be set to be always visible, hidden or to auto-hide.

The information bar provides feedback to the Student on the current lesson, time remaining, current websites and applications that are available, the status of messenger and keyboard monitoring, lesson objectives and quick access to request help. The information bar is fully configurable by the Teacher. Version 10 now includes a student clock, a visible indicator when a Student requests assistance ( easily identifiable when a teacher is walking around the classroom), and an innovative new Rewards system for younger students allowing a teacher to issue "Stars" for good work or behaviour.

All of the features included on the information bar can be customised by the Teacher.

Printer Management (ENHANCED)
NetSupport School now features additional improvements to our Print management capabilities.

• Prevent Students printing in the classroom.
• Limit printer usage by number of pages.
• Require Teacher authorisation prior to printing.
• Prevent Printers being added, deleted or modified.
• Control access and usage for each individual Printer. (NEW)
• Displays real-time Print indicator identifying which Student is Printing. (NEW)

Evolving the current "Get Name" feature, NSS v8 now offers Student Registration where additional user information can be captured.

Having completed the "Class Details" which includes Teachers Name, Lesson Title and Room Number / Name, the Tutor can then select the information that the Students will be required to complete, including custom field creation.

Once collected a class attendance register can be produced and printed or saved in a range of formats.

NSS v8 includes a complete refresh of all icons and toolbars combined with more intuitive drop down menu options to assist user navigation.

Pre-Plan the scope of the lesson and NetSupport School will continue to advise the teacher on time remaining, when the next action is due and more.

Within the main Tutor console a progress bar will advise the teacher on the current activity and time remaining.

A lesson plan is created by simply dragging required elements from the right hand list menu onto the planner and Specifying a duration for each item.

Countdown the class session with the new lesson timer combined with an all new custom alerts feature, e.g. "10 minutes until end of lesson, save work now".

Countdown timer changes colour from Green to Amber to Red as the end of the lesson approaches.

Design tests and examinations with the minimum of effort. NSS incorporates a full Test Designer allowing a Tutor to set customized tests including text, picture, audio and video questions.

Once the test has been completed, in the pre-set time by the specified Students, the results are automatically collated, marked and made available to the Tutor where individual results for each Student can be saved to file. To allow for content sharing between different classes, the ability to import or export questions is also included.

Based on customer feedback, "Help Requests" have now been made more visible within the main Tutor console.

Based on customer feedback, in NetSupport School 8 a new "Auto Reconnect " feature has been added.

If by accident or intentionally a Student disconnects from a current lesson (e.g. reboots his PC, removes his network cable), the lesson can now be configured to automatically re-join the student PC if the current lesson is still in progress.

In addition, a Student disconnection during an activity will no longer generate a warning message or pause an active Show. It is still presented clearly so that the Teacher is aware (see image to left for PC AJKLAP).

NetSupport School 8 features a new tool tab, providing a full page White Board integrated directly within the Tutor console supported with a wealth of drawing tools for improved collaboration within the classroom.

The new Whiteboard feature also allows a teacher to add content before making it available to the rest of the class, and can simply "toggle" access and visibility.

The Student icons within NetSupport School 8 can now be customized using the appearance option within the student properties. Teachers can now identify members of different groups, or perhaps a Group leader, by assigning them a different image.

When viewing students in real time under Monitor mode, if the class numbers are large ( i.e. 30+) its often hard to see in detail the activity on a specific screen. The new Auto zoom feature now provides when the Teacher "mouse overs" a specific Student thumbnail a larger version of that Thumbnail for review.

Significant work has been done on the underlying transport resulting in a 100% increase in our real-time show performance to large numbers of computers using "Broadcast Show". In NetSupport School 8, the teacher can choose when starting a lesson to use "performance mode" or "reliability mode" to optimize their lesson.

NetSupport School 8 now features a simple "block all Internet Access" option from the toolbar, to complement the more detailed Internet Monitoring and restriction options.

Used in the same way as the "Lock / Unlock" feature a teacher can quickly disable all access in a single action from within any area of NetSupport School.

NetSupport School 8 now features an additional level of user feedback during a Show.

The product already displays in real-time all actions undertaken on a Teacher's PC for all the Students to view. However when demonstrating certain applications where "key combinations" are used to launch features, these were not visible to the student.

The new Key Show feature displays a balloon on the Teachers Screen every time a key combination is used (e.g CTRL+V or ALT+E). This guarantees that all required actions are visible for the student.

As standard, NetSupport School, allows you to record all screen & keyboard activity taking place within a remote control session on a Student workstation, including audio support enabling the Tutor to record examples, which can be replayed later.

NSS v8 now offers the facility for the actual user on the Student Machine, to select and retrieve a replay file.

NetSupport School 8 now provides the ability to launch a "Show Video" from within a normal Screen Show.

From the annotation toolbar the teacher can select a video file and launch playback.

NetSupport School 8 features significant improvements in the ease of implementation within a Terminal Server (TS) environment.

These include allowing a user to select one of the following formats
(option 3 for TS):

1) Subnet
specify a target IP address and the subnet mask
2) Address Range
specify a base IP address and the number of clients
3) Terminal Services
specify an IP address and begin and end ports.

These options provide a more user-friendly way of creating a browse entry. In addition, a new Setup package will be provided that will automatically make all of the configuration changes required to use NSS in a terminal Services environment.

NetSupport School 8 includes a new support tool that gathers all of the key system and environment information needed to aid us in providing speedy problem resolution for customers.

This new feature is invisible to users unless needed and avoids the need for them to spend extra time providing partners and support teams with the required systems information.
