Video Scalers
Video Scalers convert between video formats and resolutions. Universal Scalers are the most flexible and can handle virtually any resolution or signal format. RGB Scalers convert between most PC and HDTV resolutions, but not to and from Composite or S-Video. Some RGB Scalers can also convert between DVI and Analog. Up-Converters transform standard analog Composite, Component and S-Video signals into higher resolution PC or HDTV signals. A key step in this process is de-interlacing the incoming video and converting it into a progressive scan signal. Motion compensation, aspect ratio conversion, maximum output resolution, seamless input switching and other factors determine the cost of a Video Scaler.
