No longer will users have to worry about tripping over another cable or whether the USB cable is long enough to reach from the mimio Xi to their computers. The wireless module will slide into the bottom of the mimio Xi bar (replacing the linkUSB module) and provide wireless connection from the whiteboard to the computer.

The wireless module for mimio Xi will consist of:

1. A mimio Xi module that will slide into the capture bar.
2. A small (1.5" x 1" x 3/4") uniquely matched (to module) dongle box at the end of a 10-12 inch USB cable that will plug into the USB port of the computer.
3. An AC Adapter to provide ongoing power if battery power use is not desired.

The mimio Xi wireless module uses 2.4 GHz DSSS (Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum) signal transmission technology (similar to the transmission technology of 802.11 / Wi-Fi) in a point-to-point configuration that will provide a robust connection over a distance of 30 feet with no line-of-sight requirement.

Expected Availability:
Product available to ship late April 2004. The interface will be available only as an upgrade or option to the standard mimio Xi USB SKU (600-0035).
