Great machine, great price. Bought it for my son; he had gained some experience working with a DP-008EX for a year, and his composition & recording skills had matured to the point that he was ready for the 32 tracks. I chose this over the DP-24SD because the dedicated stereo tracks really reduce the number of practical usable tracks. Maybe stereo drum overheads, and a L/R toms, or a backing vocal pair, but levels & EQs have to be perfectly matched, because that is just the way it is laid out. You can use them as mono tracks, but that gives you only 20 tracks total; the DP-24SD cuts that number down to 18. So a bit of pre-planning might be in order to maximize the potential of the 32 possible tracks. My son loves the guitar amp models, and there are some really nice dynamics controls, plus other outboard items all built in. The ability to transfer the SD data from his old machine directly to this one is great. We are well into the digital era, so the sound quality is pristine, needless to say.
