I had purchased a HoverCam Mini-5 at the beginning of the school year. While I was pleased with the Mini-5, it had it's shortcomings. I decided to purchase the Hovercam Solo 8. What a difference! The video display is crystal clear and it is so much more useful than the Mini-5.

I am a teacher at a small private Christian school and I do not have access to smart-board technology at the present time. Previously I taught at a large public high school and was used to having technology available for me...including an Elmo document camera that cost over $1000. I also had a smart-board in my classroom. After 31 years of teaching I retired from public school and accepted my new job. I am using my Solo 8 in the classroom in conjunction with my MacBook Air laptop and an Apple TV connected to an TV. My Solo 8 gives me great presentation ability and the mirroring capability of my MacBook Air to the Apple TV gives me wireless connectivity to the TV...it's a pretty nice setup for presenting materials to my students.

If I had to compare my Hovercam Solo 8 to the Elmo and to the Hovercam Mini-5, I would have to say that my Solo 8 provides a better picture than the Elmo at about 1/3 the cost. It's much better than the Mini-5 and the extra cost is well worth the expense.

I whole heartedly endorse the Hovercam Solo 8 document camera! It's a great piece of technology...
