VARIDESK may not be right for you

Compare VARIDESK to similar sit to stand solutions
In the last few years the Ergonomic Furniture industry has blossomed from a niche market to a new standard of healthy living in the workplace. Sit-Stand Workstations have evolved from a simple desk riser to a fully adjustable sit to stand solution that can improve overall health simply by not slumping in a chair 8 hours a day. What this means is while some companies may have a better way of getting the word out on a product, they may not have a better product at all.

While some companies offer you an out of the box low end package, the limit of options, accessories and adaptability can make all of the difference in providing long term positive health effects and comfort while working. We have found that a good match for the Pro Plus™ 36 is the Systematix Volante. In addition to being an excellent mid-level sit-stand workstation, the Volante saves you over $85.00 and is available with free shipping. For those looking for an entry level model we suggest taking a look at the Luxor Level Up 32 Pneumatic Adjustable Desktop Desk.

Some of the things to consider when choosing
  • Monitor Support -While many sit-stand workstations offer mounting support or surface room for two monitors, many people have need monitor support for three of even four monitors. Additionally, many sit-stand workstations have limitations on the size and combination of monitors that can be used.
  • Height Limitations -Your height should be a factor when considering a sit-stand workstation. While many models are fully adjustable within the specified range of the workstation, not all of them are. Many assume that "one size fits all", but checking the specs of a potential workstation can make the difference between setting up your new desk space upon arrival or filling out an RMA form.
  • Warranty Period - Sit-stand workstations can be pneumatic, hydraulic, spring or pulley driven or electric. None of them are simple mechanisms, and with everyday use a one year warranty may not be a satisfactory guarantee to your investment. Even different series from the same manufacturer can have a different warranty plan, so be sure to check the fine print before making a purchase.
  • Workstation or Height Adjustable Desk?
A sit-stand workstation is designed to give you the ability to stand at your work area and functions with most desks, but not all desks. Having a desk/sit-stand set-up that does not quite reach your comfort level or just "doesn't feel right" accomplishes little to gaining the ergonomic benefits that you invested time and money in. If you are looking at your current desk with skepticism when thinking of a full ergonomic solution, you may want to consider a height adjustable desk solution.
