What is the Mondopad?
The Mondopad is an interactive multi-touch high definition display. It is designed as an all in one package including a built in Windows based PC, built in video conferencing camera and built in virtual whiteboard. The latest Mondopad offers unique features such as the ability to combine two displays into a single work area. The Mondopad is also BYOD friendly by allowing users to connect their PC, MAC, tablet or smartphone and control the display or cast their screen.
What is the Microsoft Surface Hub?
The Microsoft Surface Hub is an interactive LED panel packaged with video conferencing technology. It includes and embedded i5 or i7 computer, 1080p integrated cameras, integrated microphone and speaker system, two rechargeable pens and a customer version of Windows 10 designed specifically for use with the Surface Hub.
Key Differences
Price
Perhaps one of the most important factors is pricing. The Surface Hub starts at $6999 for the 55” and in upwards of $20,000 for the 84”. The Mondopad offers a much more flexible pricing structure of $5999 for the 57”, $9999 for the 70” and $16999 for the 80”.
Available Screen Sizes
The Mondopad offers three screen sizes including 57”, 70” and 80” while the Surface Hub only offers two 55” and 84”
Removable PC
The Mondopad offers a removable PC that can easily be replaced while the Surface Hub would require an onsite technician.
Integrated Hotspot
The Mondopad offers you the option of configuring your system as a wireless hotspot. The Surface Hub does not offer the same great feature.
Conferencing Compatibility
The Mondopad offers you the option of making VTC calls to any SIP or h.323 device including devices from Cisco, Tandberg, Polycom, Lifesize etc. The Surface Hub does not offer the same and is only compatible with devices running 'Skype fro Business'.
iOS Device Compatibility
The Mondopad allows users to cast Apple iOS devices onto the Mondopad Screen as well as control it from an iPad. The Microsoft Surface Hub can not connect to iOS devices.
