The Smart-AVI SM-HDMV-8X-S is a member of SmartAVI's HD Multiviewer series of products. It allows users to view up to eight different HD digital video sources on one display device simultaneously. HDMV-8X also supports USB keyboard and mouse functionality, allowing the user to access all eight displays from one KVM set. Connections to video sources are managed via HDMI or DVI adapters, with advanced viewing options such as dual-mode, quad mode, full-screen mode, and others. Use this device to simplify the management of multiple video sources by accessing and controlling them from a single set of controls on one display.
The HD Multiviewer series can be used in many applications that require real-time monitoring of multiple devices, like HDTV, DVD players, cameras, and computers. It is the perfect solution in situations where a user needs to monitor several sources at the same time. In Air Traffic Control environments, several computers are required to monitor the progress of flights and flight information. With HDMV-8X the user is able to manage each computer and monitor the progress without having to switch between sources, making it the perfect solution for multitasking.
Controlling the HDMV-8X is easy using front panel buttons, RS-232, or On-Screen Display. Switching between the display modes is simple: Use the buttons on the front panel, the keyboard hotkeys, or RS-232 commands.
In Full Screen with PIP Mode, the full screen displays one of the eight video sources and is accompanied by seven smaller images (thumbnails) evenly displayed along the bottom and the right-hand margin of the screen from left to right, from bottom to top, allowing simultaneous monitoring. Mode changing or selecting video sources will be done via buttons on the front panel.
In Full Screen with Bottom PIP Mode, the full screen displays one of the eight video sources and is accompanied by seven smaller images (thumbnails) evenly displayed along the bottom of the screen from left to right, allowing simultaneous monitoring. In 8x Mode, all eight video sources are displayed on the screen evenly from left to right, from top to bottom of the screen, each takes one-ninth the size of the screen, allowing the user to simultaneously monitor the sources. Mode changing or selecting video sources will be done via buttons on the front panel.
In 2x2 with PIP Mode, the full screen displays four of the eight video sources evenly from left to right, from top to bottom with the first two are on top and the second two are on the bottom of the screen.
